Every Malaysian insurer is regulated under FSA 2013, supervised by BNM, member-funded into PIDM (life), and answerable to the Ombudsman for Financial Services. When something goes wrong, here is the four-stage path — and the time bars that quietly close it. 马来西亚每家保险公司都受 FSA 2013 监管、BNM 监督、人寿险纳入 PIDM 保障,并须接受金融服务监察使的裁决。下面是四阶段升级路径 — 与悄悄到期的时效。 Setiap penanggung insurans Malaysia dikawal selia di bawah FSA 2013, diselia oleh BNM, dibiayai ahli ke dalam PIDM (nyawa), dan bertanggungjawab kepada Ombudsman bagi Perkhidmatan Kewangan. 01 · INSURER

Notify within the policy time-bar (motor: 7 days; life: 30 days). Submit claim form + supporting docs. Insurer must acknowledge within 7 working days.在保单时效内报案(车险 7 日;人寿 30 日)。提交索赔表 + 证明材料。保险公司须在 7 个工作日内确认。Notifikasi dalam tempoh polisi (motor 7h; nyawa 30h).

02 · INTERNAL APPEAL

Insurer's internal channel保险公司内部复议Saluran dalaman

If denied or under-paid: write to the insurer's Customer Service Charter unit. Mandatory under BNM Fair Treatment of Financial Consumers guidelines. Free.遭拒或赔付不足,可向保险公司客户服务宪章办公室书面申诉。BNM《公平对待金融消费者》指引下强制要求。免费。Surat kepada unit Piagam Pelanggan. Mandatori BNM.

03 · OFS MALAYSIA

Ombudsman for Financial ServicesOFS 金融监察使OFS

Free, independent, binding up to RM 250k (RM 10k for motor third-party). 6-month bar from final insurer rejection. Online filing via ofs.org.my.免费、独立,对保险公司有约束力(最高 RM 250,000;车险第三方 RM 10,000)。终拒后 6 个月时效。ofs.org.my 在线提交。Percuma, mengikat sehingga RM 250k. Tempoh 6 bulan.

04 · COURT

Civil litigation民事诉讼Litigasi sivil

For claims above the OFS cap or where OFS is rejected by consumer. Sessions Court (≤ RM 1M) / High Court (above). Limitation Act 1953: 6 years from cause of action.超过 OFS 上限或消费者不接受 OFS 裁决时。地庭(≤ RM 100 万)/高庭(以上)。1953 时效法令:诉因起 6 年。Mahkamah Sesyen / Tinggi. Tempoh 6 tahun (Akta 1953).

Perbadanan Insurans Deposit Malaysia (PIDM) is the statutory insurer-of-last-resort. If a Malaysian life insurer fails, PIDM continues benefit payments up to the protection limits. General insurance is also covered, but on a different scheme.PIDM(马来西亚存款保险公司)是法定的「最后兜底人」。若马来西亚人寿保险公司破产,PIDM 在保障上限内继续给付。综合保险同样受保,但走另一套机制。Perbadanan Insurans Deposit Malaysia (PIDM) ialah penanggung-akhir berkanun. Jika penanggung insurans nyawa Malaysia gagal, PIDM meneruskan bayaran manfaat sehingga had perlindungan. Insurans am juga dilindungi, tetapi pada skim berbeza.

If your total death benefit exceeds RM 500k, splitting between two insurers gives each policy its own RM 500k PIDM ring-fence. Most cashless declines are panel hospital mismatches or pre-existing exclusion flags — not real claim denials. Call us immediately. We escalate to insurer underwriting in 30–60 minutes and get the Guarantee Letter reissued. Betterment is the depreciation deduction when a damaged part is replaced with a new one — common on motor body panels and fire-damaged appliances. PIAM-published rates apply. Yes — most Lonpac panel workshops accept direct assignment. We get you to sign Form D and the workshop bills the insurer directly. Your only out-of-pocket is the policy excess (typically RM 400–700 per private car claim).可以 — 多数 Lonpac 特约车坊接受直接转付。签 Form D 后由车坊直接向保险公司开账。你只承担「自负额」(私家车一般 RM 400–700/次)。Boleh — bengkel panel Lonpac. OFS will reject as out-of-time. You can still proceed to civil court under the 6-year Limitation Act window, but legal costs come into play.
