Two policies, two completely different promises. One guarantees a number; the other rides the market. Most confusion comes from comparing them as if they're the same product.两类保单,两种截然不同的承诺。一种保证一个数字;另一种随市场起伏。多数混乱,来自把它们当成同一种产品来比较。Dua polisi, dua janji berbeza sama sekali. Satu menjamin nombor; satu lagi menunggang pasaran. Kekeliruan datang daripada membandingkan seolah-olah sama.

Walk into any agency and you'll be shown two shapes of life cover: traditional whole-life, and investment-linked (ILP). They both pay out when you die. After that, they behave nothing alike — and which one suits you depends less on the product than on what you actually need it to do.走进任何一家代理,你会看到两种形态的人寿保障:传统终身寿险,与投资连结险(ILP)。两者都在你身故时赔付。除此之外,它们的运作天差地别 — 哪个适合你,取决的不是产品本身,而是你究竟需要它做什么。Masuk mana-mana agensi dan anda akan ditunjukkan dua bentuk perlindungan nyawa: whole-life tradisional, dan ILP. Kedua-duanya membayar apabila anda meninggal. Selepas itu, kelakuannya berbeza — mana sesuai bergantung pada keperluan anda.

Regulatory anchor监管依据Sandaran peraturan

Both are regulated by Bank Negara Malaysia under the Financial Services Act 2013. Since the 2019 BNM minimum allocation rate ruling, ILPs must direct a minimum share of premium to the investment fund. Eligible policies are protected by PIDM up to RM 500,000 per benefit. This is education, not a recommendation.两者均由国家银行(BNM)依《2013 金融服务法令》监管。自 2019 年 BNM 最低分配率规定起,ILP 须将最低比例的保费投入投资基金。符合条件的保单由 PIDM 保障,每项利益最高 RM 500,000。本文为科普,非推荐。Kedua-duanya dikawal Bank Negara Malaysia di bawah FSA 2013. Sejak kadar peruntukan minimum BNM 2019, ILP mesti menyalurkan bahagian minimum premium ke dana pelaburan. Polisi layak dilindungi PIDM sehingga RM 500,000.

01Whole-life: a guaranteed floor终身寿险:一个保证的下限Whole-life: lantai dijamin

Whole-life builds a guaranteed cash value on a fixed schedule. Premiums are higher and the growth is modest, but the number is contractual — it doesn't fall when markets do. It suits people who want certainty: a legacy figure, an estate-planning tool, or cover they'll never have to think about again.终身寿险按固定节奏累积保证现金价值。保费较高、增长平稳,但那个数字是写进合同的 — 市场下跌时它不会跟着跌。它适合想要确定性的人:一笔传承金额、一个遗产规划工具,或一份再也不必去操心的保障。Whole-life membina nilai tunai dijamin pada jadual tetap. Premium lebih tinggi dan pertumbuhan sederhana, tetapi nombornya kontraktual — tidak jatuh apabila pasaran jatuh. Sesuai untuk yang mahukan kepastian.

02ILP: flexible, market-linked, your riskILP:灵活、连结市场、风险自担ILP: fleksibel, terikat pasaran, risiko anda

An ILP splits your premium between insurance charges and investment units you choose. Upside is higher and you can adjust coverage as life changes, but the cash value moves with the funds — and in early years, charges eat much of what you pay in. It suits people comfortable with market risk who want protection and growth in one contract.ILP 把你的保费拆分为保险费用与你自选的投资单位。上行空间更大、保障可随人生变化调整,但现金价值随基金波动 — 且早年费用会吃掉你所缴的大部分。它适合能接受市场风险、想在一份合同里兼得保障与增值的人。ILP membahagi premium antara caj insurans dan unit pelaburan pilihan anda. Potensi lebih tinggi dan anda boleh laras perlindungan, tetapi nilai tunai bergerak dengan dana — dan pada tahun awal, caj memakan banyak.

There's no universally better policy — only a better fit for your timeline, risk appetite and what you want the money to do. A good review starts with those questions, not with a product brochure.没有放之四海皆优的保单 — 只有更契合你时间轴、风险偏好与资金用途的那一份。一次好的复核,从这些问题开始,而不是从产品手册开始。Tiada polisi yang lebih baik secara universal — hanya lebih sesuai untuk garis masa, selera risiko dan tujuan wang anda.
